The Shoulder of Orion — a vast red supergiant marking the raised arm of the Hunter, one of the most recognizable stars in the sky. From its shoulder Orion swings his club. It sits in late Gemini in the tropical zodiac.

Betelgeuse is a star of martial success, command, and great good fortune through action. Its nature is Mars-Mercury: forceful, capable, decisive. Conjunctions to natal points lend that point command-energy — the ability to act boldly and prevail, often bringing notable success, honors, and wealth through effort and leadership.

The traditional reading is strongly favorable: Betelgeuse confers "kingly" luck, the fortune of the one who acts at the right moment with the right force. Its only caution is the temper of Mars — that strength be used with judgment rather than aggression, lest the same power that wins also wounds.

Manifests as: distinction through action, military or competitive success, command and leadership, great good fortune, honors and wealth earned by bold effort.

Keywords: command, martial success, decisive action, great fortune, the strong arm.
